We’ll send you all the information you need, including funding options to ensure that the costs to both the participants and your charity are kept to a minimum.

If you’re looking to come along on your own or with a group of friends

If you simply want to challenge yourself and take part in an adventure of a lifetime, pick a event that suits you on the calendar to the right and book. Places are limited so, if you do want to come with friends or family, it makes sense to all book at once. In addition to those events you can see on the calendar, we’re working all the time delivering our events with particular charities. So, if you fancy raising funds for one of our charity partners (and benefit from their support) then get in touch and we’ll connect you.

It’s no easy task to plan an event, especially when it involves a group of people and you’re under pressure to make it a success. Well don’t worry. We’re here to help you every step of the way.

On booking

We’ll send you a Personalised Welcome Page with lots of support material to make the process a little easier

  • To help you promote the event to potential participants you will be able to download a flyer, which you can personalise, as well as video clips and images.
  • To help with enrolment, you’ll be able to access a link to our online booking system with a registration form and medical questionnaire.
  • To help with all those last-minute questions your personalised welcome page will include full event instructions with details of what to bring, locations, times and important contact numbers.
In the run-up to the event

We’ll keep in touch to see how you’re getting on and find out whether you need any additional support. Of course, you can always contact us at any point if you have specific questions.

Meet your event instructors

We invite every participant to dial in to one of our monthly online chats with some of the instructor team. These can help to answer any burning questions you might have and allay any fears.

How fit do I need to be?
We’ve designed Challenge the Wild so that it’s accessible to everyone. The idea is that people work together and, therefore, the team only moves as fast as its slowest team member. That said, there is some trekking involved so we’d recommend that you have a reasonable level of fitness.

Do I need any specialist equipment? If so, how much will it cost?
No, you do not need any specialist equipment. Although there will be a need for sturdy shoes and relevant clothing. We will be sending a kit list over to you and if you are not a mountain climber then it might entail a little cost.

What training do you recommend to help me complete this challenge?
You don’t have to do any training beforehand but, if you want to get fit try hill walking with a weighted backpack or walking on an incline on the treadmill. Both are excellent training exercises.

I’m fundraising as part of this challenge. Can you give me any tips on how to raise as much as possible?
Yes, we have a few fundraising ideas. You can set up an online fundraising page to ask family and friends to support you.

Is the event dangerous?
The activities are challenging, but we have extremely experienced mountain leaders and technical experts who are brilliant at their job and amazing at getting the best out of our customers. Every activity in every location is thoroughly risk assessed and each has passed the required safety standards.

Are there any medical issues or disabilities that would rule someone out from taking part in the challenge?
Yes, there can be some medical issues but not many. It’s important for our team to know of any issues or allergies in advance so that we can work around them.

I’m scared of heights/water/enclosed spaces etc. Will this be an issue?
These are very common fears so you won’t be alone. Our challenges do involve heights, water and enclosed spaces, but our staff are very used to dealing with nervous people and will work with you to combat any fears. If you really don’t want to go through with any particular activity, you don’t have to.

Is it OK if I decide not to take part in one of the activities?
Yes. So long as you give it your best go, then we can’t ask any more of you.

Do you have a kit list of everything I’ll need?
Yes. Once you’ve booked your place we’ll send you an email with all the details you’ll need.

As these challenges are in remote locations, will we have contact details to share in case of emergencies?
Yes. These will all be sent to you in your Event Instructions.

Will food be provided?
If it is a one day event then you will need to bring a packed lunch with you as food will not be provided. If it’s an overnight stay event you will also need to bring a packed lunch but on the night of the event you will be making dinner as part of a challenge and breakfast for the next morning will be provided.

Are all the events the same?
Most of our one day events include the same activities which are abseiling, scrambling, waterfall jumping and zip wiring. There are some specific differences based on location and event length, and you’ll learn all about this when you’ve signed up.
We also hold Xtreme events where you will do the same activities but they will be more intense and challenging.

Do I need to bring my own tent?
No, tents will be provided.

Is there a toilet on site?
There will always be toilet facilities near your camp site.

How old do I need to be in order to complete the challenge?
All participants must be 18 or over on the date of the challenge.

Will we have a chance to chat with the delivery team?
Every month, the delivery team invite all of our upcoming participants onto a webinar (if you’ve never been on one before, don’t worry it’s like a video conference call thingy – you just press a button and can watch and talk!). On these, you’ll get to meet some of the instructors, learn about your upcoming event and ask any questions – no holds barred! People find them real handy to cover off all those questions they have.
